At the top of Mount Ventoux

WINS & PRAISE

This is me. At the summit of Mont Ventoux. After 4 days of cycling across the southern Alps. I’d been up it before – three times in a day in fact. But that was a separate challenge. This ascent was after days of gruelling climbs and a distance of around 450kms. I’m sat looking out over the lunar landscape, layered up as it was cold and eating M&Ms to get some energy. The main thought on my mind was how three people who I was riding with, could not only tackle the same cycling challenge, but also tackle the challenge of living with Parkinson’s. So positively. We laughed, we cried, we took the proverbial out of each other. All the while, I looked on with gratitude to know them, to call them friends and to witness their positive hope that one day soon, a cure will be found. Cure Parkinson’s is a client. Together with Parkinson’s UK they will find a cure.

Until then, we will continue to raise awareness of what this disease does, its impact on hundreds of thousands of people every day, how it is the fastest growing neurological disorder in the world and a cure is not just a possibility, with extra funding, it is a certainty.

We aim high. Every time.
