Creating a global destination
The London Resort was one of Sentient’s first clients and since those early, heady days, the journey has been nothing short of spectacular. Our initial remit was to provide strategic consultancy and communications, but it is a remit that has grown with the Resort’s ambitions.
The ambitious site, which has been dubbed by some as being the UK’s version of Disneyland (although Disney has no involvement whatsoever) will be a 465 hectares development featuring hotel complex, unique, next generation experiences, convention centre, water park and eSports Centre.

Crucially, the London Resort is also aiming to be one of the most sustainable, global destinations in the world.
It plans to be the first operationally carbon neutral theme park, will deliver a net biodiversity gain and will create a green network of amenity areas and parkland to include areas of environmental enhancement and wildlife habitat creation beside the River Thames for local residents and Resort guests.
It will be the first European development of its kind to be built from scratch since the opening of Disneyland Paris in 1992. If successful in securing development consent, construction could begin in 2022 with a view to opening in 2024.
Sentient has not only created and managed every announcement since appointed, it has also been central to providing strategic consultancy and communications in every part of the business.
From working with IP partners and partner agencies, to managing social channels and providing issue and crisis support.
Outputs to date include the generation of over 2,000 articles in media around the world. Outcomes include a reversal of media and public sentiment from negative neutral to positive neutral and, most critically, a planning application delivered on time which now passes to the Secretary of State.
